Bro

Evan and Brendan have started acting like brothers -- wrestling, chasing, playing and giggling together. It so fun -- they get along far better than the girls ever did. This particular morning, Evan was up and having his morning snuggle w/ a healthy helping of Dora when I brought Brendan down. Upon seeing Evan, Bren squealed with delight, raced over, climbed up the couch, gave Evan three kisses and a hug and then settled next to him to watch a little tv with this best buddy.

A picture is worth 1000 words

A family friend took this picture of us at my sister's wedding a few years ago. My sister sent it to me because she loved how true to life it was. Evan's crying, I'm chastizing Emily, Dani's looking for trouble to make and Jason and I are hanging on by our fingernails. Yep, in a nutshell
This is our life.
A couple of days ago, Jason inadvertantly caught another such moment. This pretty much depicts how I feel my life is right now. I'm not sure what I'm working on, but if you say its a seminary lesson and throw in a sink of dishes and 3 or 4 loads of laundry it would be complete! Is everyone with little kids frazzled and overwhelmed all the time or am I the only one who always looks like she's barely holding things together?

We're back

I have so many excuses for our absence of late. Mostly, its Blogger's fault. They hate me. But we've worked around the bad feelings and have found a few solutions and are working out others. You may be confused by the odd web address you are redirected to from www.restucias.com/family This is our temporary home until... well, Jason is doinig something with our domain, changing it... or something..... anyway, you can still get here by typing the old address. Some pictures aren't up anymore, i'm having to repost them, but you are welcome to peruse the most recent stuff and comment to your little hearts content. Welcome back!

The belle of the ball

Evan's preschool school had a Valentines' Ball this week. They have been learning how to dance for weeks. I was skeptical of how it would turn out, but it ended being one of the cutest things I have ever seen in my life. See for yourself.

And check out the gorgeous babe he got to dance with! What a lucky boy

Where's Brendan?

Brendan has a thing for the lazy susan. He loves to spin it and pull stuff out of it. But he was really REALLY excited when he figured out how to get IN it. When the cabinet front revolves back under the countertop, there's just enough space for a little 17 month old body. Can you see him?

Three birds with one stone

Perhaps this isn't the most sanitary thing in the world... but there were needs, ya know? I NEEDED to get the dishes done, I NEEDED to clean the syrup off of Brendan and I NEEDED Brendan to quit clinging to my ankles and crying. Voila! Three problems solved by one stroke of motherly desperation, I mean genius.

The boy loves raisins

Brendan's favorite food (besides candy) is raisins. He won't let me give him a cup full, he has to have the whole box to eat from. I nearly fell over laughing when I found him eating raisins out of the box with the biggest spoon he could find. Lovin' the raisins.

Overheard

Dani and Evan are playing with their Playmobil pirate set in the playroom.

Dani: We're going on a honeymoon now....
Evan: Ok....
Dani: You take care of the kids and DON'T let them die this time!
